The essence of summer swings savory or sweet!

Super-sweet Early Girl tomatoes are our favorite dry-farmed variety to use in jam; their concentrated sweetness melds with late-summer white nectarines for a sweet, full-bodied jam that shines in savory pairings. We've infused this jam with our favorite provençale herbs -- rosemary, thyme, and lavender -- and added a dash of pastis and fennel seeds. The ideal preserve for lunch or dinner entertaining, this is one of our favorites to bring along as a hostess gift. Yum!

To serve: Pair with any cheese, from goat to cheddar; divine on a grilled cheese sandwich; liven up a bagel and cream cheese
